Espresso, americano, cappuccino, latte: what is the difference?
They all start with the same espresso shot. The difference is what goes in next. A plain-English guide to the coffee menu at The Central Drip.

Most of the coffee menu is built on one thing: a shot of espresso. What changes from drink to drink is how much water or milk is added, and how that milk is steamed.
Espresso
A small, strong shot made by forcing hot water through finely ground coffee under pressure. Rich, intense and over in a few sips. Rs 100 single, Rs 120 double.
Americano
Espresso topped up with hot water. Same flavour as espresso, but longer and gentler, so you can sit with it. It is our most ordered cup. Rs 130 single, Rs 160 double.
Cappuccino
Espresso with steamed milk and a thick layer of milk foam. Smaller and stronger-tasting than a latte. Rs 170 single, Rs 200 double.
Café latte
Espresso with more steamed milk and only a thin layer of foam. Soft, creamy and mild. Rs 200 single, Rs 250 double.
Café mocha
A latte with chocolate. Rs 250.
Which one is for you?
Like it strong and black: espresso or americano. Like milk but still want to taste the coffee: cappuccino. Want something smooth and mild: latte. Want dessert in a cup: mocha.
